Muslim parents, we can do something

Parents never get a day off. We add to our children’s Islamic education every day with Salah, Quran, Islamic events and activities. When they come home with questions about math or English homework, we are there, too.

Are the schools even doing their part? It may not be their fault. The schools are forced to squeeze huge curricula into one year, keep dozens of diverse kids in a single room, with just one teacher. Schools, teachers, and administrators might be doing their best…but our children deserve more!

What’s wrong with our education system?

Be the change

that the Ummah needs today

Help us build a school that cares. Founded by Muslim parents for Muslim students.

Target of $150,000

that’s only 300 people giving $500!

The entire schooling system looks bleak now, but we hold Allah in your heart, and believe:

In Shaa Allah, this trial shall pass

No more choosing between Islamic education and academic excellence.

Our children deserve more. We need a first-grade Islamic learnig environment, where our deen is meaningfully interlaced with successful academics. We can nurture love of God and Islamic character as a means to produce academic excellence, not as an excuse to neglect it.

What can we do?

We have work, family and other commitments. We are not curriculum experts to homeschool our kids. We are not politically-savvy to lobby for changes in the Australian education system. We can do something, though. We can support our Muslim brothers and sisters in creating a true Islamic curriculum and school.

Fitra Community School is not just another Islamic school. It’s an Islamic learning environment developed by parents and teachers like us, working together to bring about the education our kids deserve.

Built around the Community School model, Fitra is a student-centric environment that features small class and enrollment sizes, attentive student selection procedure, heightened attention per student, lower student to teacher ratios, and an increased level of focus and connection for every student.

Within this model, we at Fitra intend to nurture key life skills in our kids:

We build character, mindset and ability to learn before pumping information and technical skills into our children. Child-centred education and community school model has proven to produce better results long-term with higher exam scores, lower stress levels and better social and emotional intelligence.

We are not building another information factory.

We are raising a community of kids who love to learn.
