This year our Middlies and Biggies participated in the Independent Schools Victoria poetry competition for the first time. The competition was open to students from all school sectors and generated over 500 entries and more than 100,000 words from student poets across the State.
We were thrilled when the results came back and two of our students, Zaid Zuhair (Year 4) and Abdullah Talib (Year 5) were awarded honorable mentions. You can read more about the judge’s reflections on the poetry competition here. Zaid’s poem was quoted 😀
We are incredibly proud of all of our students who participated in the competition for it takes courage to put yourself out there to be judged. They all worked incredibly hard on their poems and we have no doubt that they all grew immensely through this experience. Read them here.
To see students from our school recognised alongside students from other leading, well established schools in the State is great validation for us that we are on the right track with the education program that the school is delivering. But of course this result is a pit stop in our race towards achieving Ihsan (excellence) in everything that our School does and stands for.
We ask Allah for the tawfik to keep soldiering on!
